Ark
of the Covenant:
Replaced
by God's New Covenant in (Jesus the Christ)
The Ark of
the Covenant disappeared from the Jewish Temple somewhere before or during the
Babylonian invasion of
"And it shall come to pass, when ye be
multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall
say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind:
neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that
be done any more" (Jeremiah 3:16). Even
before Jesus, Jeremiah's prophecy revealed that there would be no more need for
the Ark of the Covenant in the future because God had a better covenant that he
would bring to pass in His Son, Jesus Christ.
The ark was a receptacle that housed three
things-:
1.
The word of God (ten
commandments)
2.
Aarons rod
3.
The effigy of the
manna.
By the time of David and Solomon, if one had
looked in the
1. The Ten Commandments are “Gods Holy
inerrant words”
2. The manna was heavenly food and speaks of “Heaven”
3. Aaron’s rod was a branch of the almond tree
a product of the “earth”
“Conclusion”
Heaven and earth
shall pass away but Gods words shall
not pass away.
The
“The Ark of the
covenant is not lost” “it is no more”
