Ark of the Covenant:

Replaced by God's New Covenant in (Jesus the Christ)

The Ark of the Covenant disappeared from the Jewish Temple somewhere before or during the Babylonian invasion of Jerusalem in 586 BC. In anticipation of the Ark's disappearance, the prophet Jeremiah wrote:

"And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more" (Jeremiah 3:16). Even before Jesus, Jeremiah's prophecy revealed that there would be no more need for the Ark of the Covenant in the future because God had a better covenant that he would bring to pass in His Son, Jesus Christ.

The ark was a receptacle that housed three things-:

1.     The word of God (ten commandments)

2.      Aarons rod

3.     The effigy of the manna.

By the time of David and Solomon, if one had looked in the Ark he would have seen only the word of God. The other two items would have been missing, the first of these being Aarons rod but we can only speculate as to why it was missing, perhaps it was lost during one the many times the Ark had been captured; as for the manna, it ceased   after the Israelites entered the promised land.

1. The Ten Commandments are “Gods Holy inerrant words”

2. The manna was heavenly food and speaks of “Heaven”

3. Aaron’s rod was a branch of the almond tree a product of the “earth”

“Conclusion”

Heaven and earth shall pass away but Gods words shall not pass away.

The Ark of the old covenant symbolised the Law and like John the Baptist it had to give way to Jesus the Christ, Like John, it paved the way for a better covenant in Christ Jesus.

“The Ark of the covenant is not lost” “it is no more”

"And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more" (Jeremiah 3:16).

Katrina

30 years together

It seems only yesterday that we were wed

But like a weaver’s shuttle, Oh, how time has sped

The children have grown up and flown away

They have their own lives so how could they stay?

Once young and vibrant, we had a good life

That is, my children and I and Katrina my wife

Now there’s only Echo’s of days long past

Just me and Katrina alone at last

Together we’ve been for thirty four years and a day

and like droplets of dew time just melts away

We had laughter and we had our tears too

But through it all I never stopped loving you.

34 years

The End.

A
Fathers Day Goodbye
By
Alexander Lennox
19th June 2016
On Fathers day is pleased God to send for his son
Pastor James Smith by name was the one
Promoted to glory on this said day
And to the spirit, his mortal coil gave way
His spirit and soul did upward fly
To that land of Glory beyond the sky
No tears or pain can there be found
On this tableland, Gods holy ground

He stands in glory with the saints of old
And walks heavens streets made of pure gold
Farewell my brother farewell to thee
For yours indeed is the land of the free

Now free from sin and all that doth kill
Freed by the lamb on Calvary’s hill
Oh dear brother take now thy rest
In the bosom of Jesus, heavens best

Dedicated to Pastor James Smith
Whose spiritual graduation took place on the 19th June 2016
Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord
The End
